When Your Days Are Bleh

Remember the days when you feel just bleh.

Uninspired.

Lacking lustre.

And you find it meaningless to do anything because you are not seeing the results you are expecting.

All you want to do is to crawl into bed and sleep the day away, hoping the mood will go away and tomorrow will be better. The thing is, it is not the day that is causing you to feel this way.

It is you.

Remember these few words, which I tell my clients often: MOVEMENT IS LIFE. When we move — to do anything. Whether it is to get out of the house, do some exercise, go for a walk, read a book, make a plan, anything that will move you even an inch towards your goal, you are creating life.

When you are resigned to your fate, feeling low and down, and losing hope, you are conspiring with the universe to kill your dreams and eventually yourself.

It is debilitating.

Do something, anything. Especially when you feel lost and really do not know what to do. Just do something — perhaps cook your favourite meal, do something you are good at (crossword puzzles?), sing a song!

The goal is to infuse your whole being with positive vibes, so that you are accumulating enough energy to face the world, and go for the next battle round to go for what you want.

Life is not easy, not even for the most successful people. We all hit that roadblock.

The thing is the more successful the person is, the more frequently they hit these blocks because the bar is always set higher and higher. And it gets more and more challenging to surmount them.

I had many many days of these right at the beginning of the year when I heard some not so great news about the project I was working on for some time. I just could not bring myself to work on it anymore. I was disappointed and almost giving up.

But I told myself to keep moving, the advice I give my own clients, so I had better walk my talk.

So I literally did. I did my walking meditation daily contemplating about this, seeking clarity and inspiration.  About three months later, I received some positive news and things opened up once again.

I know three months seem like a long time to put something on hold, but if you knew how long this project has been taking me, three months is short in comparison.

My message to you is, do not give up. In your darkest days, crawling into bed seems like the most tempting thing to do, but don’t.

Walk it off.

You will truly see that Movement Is Life.
