What you seek is seeking you - Rumi

What you seek is seeking you - Rumi

I love this quote for its simple truth, for its simplicity, and for its depth.

I remember I posted this quote some time back, and someone said: but this is not true, I have been seeking and searching but I do not get what I sought for, what I always get is not what I want.

Want. And seek.

Two very different meanings.

In my understanding, "want" usually comes from the ego-self.

So, in this Rumi quote, the YOU, is not an any old you. It is not the ego you, nor is it the lusty you, greedy you, broken you, and the many other lower self yous.

It is the YOU in its highest sense. The YOU that is most aligned with your highest self, the You that has the clarity, light, love, presence.

And this YOU is inside waiting to be revealed. And if you were to peel away the distractions of the world's wants, desires and misdirections, you reveal a true You inside.

I received a beautiful message from a client yesterday, she thanked me for helping her to become more aware and being more awakened, and she had a profound experience while being in nature. The message touched me because I felt her connection to her real being.

I felt her true presence, I felt her YOU, the part of her that Rumi's quote was talking about.

In her experience with her true self, she realised at that moment, how connected the Universe is, and that the Universe supports her in living a purposeful life.

I believe that whenever we have this level of profound experience, our lives will never be the same.

I know that whatever the real YOU in her is seeking, is already seeking her.

And in truth, there is no need to search, the "work" we need to do is not in the searching or seeking, but in peeling away all that is blocking us from our true YOU.

Letting go of what we have been taught to be true, letting go of what is dictated by society, letting go of what is acceptable by our peers, and we will be rewarded simply by being our true YOU.

Remember, what YOU seek is seeking YOU.
