Feeling Stuck? Could it be a nicer way to say you're afraid

How often have we felt stuck in our career, projects, relationships, connections, and so on and we feel we can't progress or take the next step.

So we just wait. The thing is, even when we wait, we can't get unstuck. Unless while waiting, we listen to the inner promptings that allow us to take a different direction.

Have you thought about the time when you felt stuck, perhaps in a relationship, or in a job that absolutely drains you and you just waited? And the wait became a few months, and then a few years?

For all of us, when we say we are stuck, we are saying we are afraid to get unstuck because it might:

  • hurt someone
  • create an unstable family situation
  • cause someone to get angry
  • create a money situation where there will not be enough to pay the mortgage
  • make someone else really unhappy at the expense of your own happiness
  • make your family look bad, because what would other people think!
  • cause you to be in a situation where you do not have security, stability, love, admiration, support, and so on

Now the thing is, the minute you admit to yourself that in truth you are not stuck, but that you're afraid, and you face what exactly you are afraid of, you will be able to move forward with greater ease.

As the saying goes: “Everything you've ever wanted is sitting on the other side of fear.”
