Are we waiting for people to f**k up?

Have you encountered people who are so focused on you and your faults, you feel as if they are constantly on the lookout for you to fail. It is as if they have made it their life purpose to do so. Or maybe you recognise this as a trait within yourself.

All of us have some of these critical fault-finder traits, but if we are so outer focused, we lose sight of what is truly important.

Why do we do this -- focusing on other people, watching when they will fall, or f**k up, and hoping to...

We Don't Know What We Don't Know

There was a Twitter exchange between Stephen King and a tweeter, which goes something like:

Stephen King: No, Coronavirus is NOT like THE STAND. It's not anywhere near as serious. It's eminently survivable. Keep calm and take all reasonable precautions.

Someone replied: Have you read the book?!

(Those who have heard of The Stand would probably know it was written by Stephen King).

As with all social media platforms, sometimes you get the good stuff, but it is also a place where you can...

Being okay with struggling

One of the many things that people do not tell us enough as we're growing up is that WE WILL STRUGGLE. Struggling is a part of life, but they do pass.

Sometimes our struggles are small, and sometimes extremely devastating. Sometimes the struggles are long term, other times they are short terms. We MUST know this, that in our struggles we are learning to understand the size of our cocoon, and maybe we are trying to get out of the cocoon at various stages of our lives, but we will struggle.

Far...

The right perception of self

Getting the right perception of self has to be one of the most difficult things to achieve because it requires a high level of self-awareness.

Most people are still working in progress or have not even started in the area of self-awareness.

People you meet or even yourself could be either thinking that they/you are better at something than they/you actually are. Or thinking that they/you are not as good as they/you are when in truth they/you are meeting the standards!

This can be tricky for...

Spiritual boundaries and more, part 2

If you have not read part 1 of this sharing, go HERE

What are spiritual boundaries? This is not what people think. Most people think that if they are practising a certain religion, they cannot pray or think of another 'god' and that spiritual warfare will happen as if the gods are having a war over them. (It's a little egotistical thinking happening here) So they think that to practice spiritual boundaries, they need to disown other religions or even start a war in the name of theirs.

Are you willing to look at your own darkness?

One of the most challenging things to do is to look at our own darkness, without flinching, without reacting, without blaming, without shame, without embarrassment. This is a tough one for everyone, even for people already on the path of personal development, let alone people who are new to personal growth.

Often people ask me how do I read people. Do I look at their energies first? Or do I read their minds? Or do I look at their aura first?

The first thing I see/sense is usually energy. It...

Social distancing and our habits

I'm sure like me you have seen many memes of the types of people that will come out of lockdown, from the alcoholic, fitness fanatic to the creative chef.

Obviously, we will not come out of lockdown being just one type of person. We all go through different experiences and different types of learning, and whatever the experience may be, they all serve a purpose.

But I have also noticed one thing that is very interesting. And it has a lot to do with the people of influence in our lives. During...

Happy people build their inner world, unhappy people blame their outer world

Happy people build their inner world, unhappy people blame their outer world.

In our continuation of the theme of self-awareness / personal development during this pandemic, let us explore the theme of happiness. It is such a simple concept yet so difficult to achieve.

Remember, when we were young and we sang: When you're happy and you know it, clap your hands?

Such innocence. How have we lost it all?

Personally, I like the simple strategies of life: happy, laugh. Sad, cry. It doesn't have to...

Tips on self-awareness while you are stuck at home

In the coming weeks, not only will more of us be given the stay at home order, more cities will be in complete lockdown and quarantine.

I've received many questions from people about this -- asking for a spiritual or higher reason to why this is happening. Whether there is a spiritual reason or not, is not as important as the reality that we are all asked to stay at home and to keep a distance from one another.

Keeping a distance gives us all some space.

Have we been so...

Energy follows thought, is this true?

Heard of this saying energy follows thought?

It is with this saying that many people have learned on the path of personal development that they can create the life they want and that if they thought about it more and repeat the thought, the outcome they want will become a reality.

But is this really true?

Or is this some misguided information passed down by franchised motivational/personal development institutions as a money generating machine for their own pockets?

There is a...
